About Amanda Decker, LMHC

A Thoughtful, Personalized Approach

I draw from a range of modalities to meet each client’s unique needs. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I focus on understanding you as an individual and tailoring a method that works best for you.

I also believe it’s important for clients to have a basic understanding of how the brain works – knowing what we’re doing and why helps create a more transparent, collaborative process. My goal is for you to leave sessions not only with insight, but with practical coping skills you can apply in your daily life.

In therapy, I believe it’s just as important to highlight what brings you joy as it is to process challenges, so I value humor and connection, and I welcome moments of laughter when they arise.

Having navigated my own mental health challenges, I understand how difficult it can be to seek help, and I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable doing so.

Why This Work Matters to Me

I received immense support from my community as I worked through my own mental health struggles.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in clinical mental health counseling.

Being in this field allows me to pay that support forward and serve as a kind of “thank you” to those who helped me along the way. It’s deeply meaningful to offer care, understanding, and support to others, and being able to do this work continues to feel like a gift.

Who I Am Outside the Therapy Room

Outside of my work, I enjoy camping, playing basketball, and reading. I genuinely love meeting people and discovering what we have in common.
